Admission

Admission Regualations

* Application forms for B.Ed course can be obtained from the college office on payment of Rs.150/-

* Admission will be made according to the rules & regulations of the Mahatma Gandhi University, NCTE and Government of Kerala

* Reservation of seats for backward classes will be made as per the rules and regulations in the amended status of University       regarding self-financing colleges.


Eligibility for Admission


* The minimum requirement of marks for admission to B.Ed courses us 50% (No rounding off of the percentage of marks to the       nearest whole number is permitted) in Bachelor's Degree [Science/ Arts Subjects] for Part III or 50% Marks in MA/M.Sc./M.Com.

* Candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste/Tribe [ SC/ST ] communities with pass in graduation/post graduation, in the   respective subjects, are eligible for admission.

* Candidates belonging to Socially and Educationally Backward communities [SEBC] will bw given % relaxation in marks for admission.

* Candidates should be physically fit and mentally sound. Deaf/Dumb candidates are not eligible. However, blind candidates will be  eligible for admission to course other than science optional.

* Candidates who claim for communal reservation should produce both community and income certificate obtained from the village   office concerned.

Eligibility for Different Optional Subjects:

(a) English: B.A. degree with English language and literature/functional English / B.A. communicative English with 50% mark in part III or 50% marks in M.A. English language and Literature/Functional English / Communicative English or B.A. / B.Sc. with 50% of marks for part I English and not less than 50% marks for Master’s Degree in English Language and Literature.

(b) Mathematics: B.Sc. Degree with Mathematics/Statistics/Applied Statistics as main, with 50% marks in parts III or 50% marks in M.Sc. Mathematics/Statistics/Applied Statistics. Candidates with Statistics/Applied Statistics should have studies Mathematics as one of the subjects.

(c) Physical Science: B.Sc. Degree with Physics/Chemistry/Polymer Chemistry/Geology/Petrochemicals/Biochemistry/Industrial Chemistry main with 50% marks in part III or 50% marks in M.Sc. Physics/Chemistry/Polymer Chemistry/Geology/Petrochemicals/Biochemistry/Industrial Chemistry.

(d) Natural Science: B.Sc. Degree with Botany/Zoology/Biochemistry/ Plant Science/Home Science with Zoology or Botany as subsidiary/ Aquaculture (with Biochemistry and Zoology as subsidiaries)/Biotechnology/Microbiology with 50% marks in part III or 50% marks in M.Sc. Botany/Zoology/Biochemistry/Plant Science/Home Science. They should have studied Botany/Zoology/Biochemistry as one of the subjects in Degree level.

(e) Social Science: B.A. Degree with History/Arabic and Islamic History/Geography/Politics/Economics/Sociology/Psychology/Philosophy/West Asian Studies with 50% mark in part III or 50% marks in M.A. History/Arabic and Islamic History/Geography/Politics/Economics/Sociology/Psychology/Philosophy/west Asian studies.

(f) Commerce: candidates who have secured M.Com Degree with not less than 50% marks alone are eligible for admission to the B.Ed. Course in Commerce. Such candidates are not eligible for admission to any other B.Ed Course.

Candidates should report to the college office with the following documents in original

  • The Allotment Memo received online.
  • Receipt of fee remitted in the bank.
  • Certificate to prove date of birth – SSLC Certificate
  • Transfer Certificate (TC) and Conduct Certificate from the Institution last attended.
  • Marklist of the qualifying examination (Higher Secondary or equivalent) and the Pass certificate (if applicable).
  • Marklists of all parts of BA/B.Sc., MA/M.Sc. Degree examinations and Degree Certificates (if applicable).
  • Eligibility Certificate from any University in Kerala, in case of candidates who have passed a qualifying examination from other     Universities outside state.
  • Migration Certificate, if applicable.
  • Any other documents required to be produced by the Head of Institution such as certificate to prove SC/ST/OBC, Community,    Income, etc.
  • Four passport size photos.
  • Two self-addressed stamped envelopes.
  • Take sufficient number of photocopies of the certificates before you submit those to the college office
